Business owners are readjusting to new guidelines, as Illinois entered Phase Three of the governor's reopening plan Friday.
Now that salons are allowed to reopen, E. Claire Beauty and Wellness owner Elizabeth Strusz says she had to make some changes.
The usual 8 stations are cut by half - to using 4 at a time.
After a client is finished, that station is sanitized and allowed to dry while the stylist moves the next client to the next station.
Everyone will wear face masks and the clients will have the mask attached with medical tape to avoid straps around the ears.
“We’re in a creative industry, it’s just stretching us in a different direction than we’re used to.”
Strusz says since the announcement of reopening they have 480 phone calls for appointments to return
“It’s a joy because it’s cool to be able to reopen, it’s cool to be able to talk to people again and it’s a nightmare because I feel like I can’t take of people fast enough.”
