Illinois Offers 2nd Round of BIG Grants for Businesses Hurt by the Pandemic

The State of Illinois is offering 245 million dollars in grants to small businesses struggling during the pandemic.

This is the second round of Business Interruption Grants, focusing this time on heavily impacted industries, downstate businesses and those in areas hit especially hard by COVID-19.
Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity director Erin Guthrie.

"While the first round of funds has helped 2,800 businesses in 78 counties across the state make ends meet, an additional $200 million in BIG grants will help ensure that even more businesses across our state have a shot at unlocking funds that will help them pay the rent, the payroll and other costs to help them safely reopen and regain their livelihoods."

Grant applications will be available starting Thursday here.
