The Illinois House Thursday joined the Senate, which had previously passed a bill to increase the state minimum wage.

The current eight dollars 25 cents an hour will gradually rise to 15 bucks an hour by 2025.
Supporters say people deserve to earn a paycheck they can live on...but Representative Charlie Meier of Okawville fears this will mean the loss of jobs downstate.

Chicago Representative Celine Villanueva says it's time for hard working Illinoisans to be paid a livable wage.

Governor JB Pritzker says he will sign the bill into law.
