SIU-C Math Students Supply Crucial Data for Ameren

In a unique partnership, Ameren is giving some math students at SIU Carbondale the job of crunching numbers and studying data, all to help the major energy supplier be better prepared for problems.

In this WSIU INFOCUS feature, WSIU radio visits with Dr. Wesley Calvert, a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at SIU Carbondale and SIU Mathematics Student Madison Wilderman, who is a Junior.

Ameren is an energy supplier based in St. Louis and, according to Ameren's website, supplies electricity to 2.4 million people in a 64,000 square mile area.
